Easter Fun

This is Reece's 3rd Easter, but since it is only this year that he is able to really understand holidays, it's the first year that we have done much to celebrate.  It was a fun week!

Reece and Mom hit up the dollar store and collected some fun bunny and egg-themed play items for the week.  Below Reece is exploring his Easter sensory bin.

We visited the zoo to meet the Easter Bunny and visit some of our favorite animals.  Our new schedule with mom at home all week is making it so we can have real weekends with family outings, which is great.
Colin says that this picture is super creepy...I guess it is.  Reece loved it though!

Back home modeling his Easter Bunny hat (made at the zoo) and eating his popcorn treat from the zoo bunny.
Later in the week, Chef Reece got to work baking carrot muffins to share with his friends during the Egg Hunt playdate we hosted on Friday.  Mom decorated them in the bunny spirit.

Our playdate Egg Hunt was a big hit.  The toddler crew was excited to collect the eggs, although they all sat down to open the first egg that they picked up.  It took some serious prodding from the moms to teach them the American way of running and hoarding as many as you can before opening to see what's inside.  They were filled with stickers, which was met with approval by the crowd.

On Easter weekend Reece and Dad decorated eggs and then soon after turned them into egg salad.  The main event was Sunday with the arrival of the Easter basket and a visit from Nana, Papa, and Uncle Chris in the afternoon.  This was so exciting that Reece wasn't able to nap...that part was not so exciting for mom and dad.  Our exhaustion is evident by the total lack of pictures of what was a wonderful visit and dinner with the Freeman family!

Reece loves his chef's apron that Grama made

Very excited by his mostly train-themed Easter basket
