A White Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Although we are now six days into 2013, I wanted to post a few memories of a very special 1st and 3rd Christmas for Nell and Reece.

Our Christmas celebrations began over at the Freeman house, with Reece getting to stay up for the Christmas Eve party for the first time.  He made it to 10:00 with only one small meltdown and was serenaded up to bed in true Carbonneau style to the tune of "Goodnight Irene".  The next morning Reece was up bright and early to find his cement truck from Santa and open the first round of gifts.  Nell slept in but was very excited to get a drum, a doll, and some new blocks when she decided to join us.

Gifts at the Porter house happened at an especially relaxed pace this year, with naps and lunches for Reece, Nell, and Sasha interrupting the progress at regular intervals.  A great time was had by all and we were so happy to have everybody together this year.

And, for the first time in years, we had a very white Christmas!  It was a magical snow that began on Christmas eve and continued on and off over the next few days.

We packed no boots, gloves, or hats to go to Farmington, but Reece was not the least bit concerned.

Fun in the snow with (or near, really) cousin Sasha.  Next year they'll really play together!

We grabbed a window of time between snowstorms to head back to Rhode Island.  Here's Reece continuing his love of shoveling in front of our house, this time appropriately dressed.  He has a renewed interest in accompanying Dad and Zoey on walks, since he can stomp and make footprints in the snow.  I should add that we are LOVING having a garage for the first time!
