Nine Months and Counting

Nell just turned nine months and has officially now been out in the world for as long as she was in utero.  A milestone?  Why not?  Baby girl is always along for the ride on all of our little adventures, but in celebration I think she needs an update all her own.

Modeling the adorable owl hat made by Aunt Jess for Reece a few years ago.

She is the happiest, most laid-back little baby.  She has yet to start crawling (hallelujah - Reece was walking at this point!), so she actually sits and plays with toys.  She loves being read to, playing with her baby doll and putting balls into her little bucket (thank you Auntie Erica and Uncle Brian!).  She has a smile on her face from the second she wakes up, unless...

...she's hungry!  Nell the dinosaur show up , screeching until she gets her food, then grunting and growling as she shovels it in her mouth.

Nell is quite shy and reserved around new people, meaning anyone that she doesn't see at least three or four times per week.  She regularly disappoints sales clerks and elderly women at the grocery store by staring them down rather than giving the smile they want.  She's just very cautious and after awhile (45 minutes or so) warms up to a new person or place.

Nell loves her friends!  Here she's playing with George, who won't sit still long enough to get a focused photo (a la Reece).

No one can make her laugh like big brother Reece.  This video is a little long, but I could listen to her giggle all day...
